Island Pond, Vermont is a village
of Brighton with a population of about 1,000. It includes a land
area of about 4½ square miles, with just over
7% water coverage. Age demographics are relatively well dispersed. Island Pond resides in the northeast corner of Vermont, and this region is commonly referred to as the Northeast Kingdom. The area is known for its distinct seasons, rugged lands and scenic vistas. Island Pond offers a historical setting, having seen a vibrant lumber and paper industry, railroad activity, farming and local business.
